«Dubai Health» has been supplying hospitals with 1780 doctors,nurses and administrative stuff in 2015

The General Director of the Dubai Health Authority Engineer Essa Al Maidoor informed that the Commission is in connection with the appointment of 1780 medical, nursing and administrative staff at its facilities during the current year.
 
The new appointments will increase the number of doctors, nurses and workers in the commission up to more than 12 thousand and 780 employees, providing health services in hospitals and health centers which is distributed to all parts of the emirate under the supervision of the commission.

Maidour added that the new appointments come in preparation for the opening of a major health projects in the emirate, including AL Galeela Specialist Hospital for Children, which is being prepared to open during the current year, and the Trauma Center in Rashid Hospital, which will be completed during the next few months, along with the opening of new clinics and centers health, including four centers to conduct medical fitness tests during the current year.

He said that «Dubai Health» keen to bring the best medical and nursing competencies, and is working to increase the number of doctors in all medical specialties, to achieve a better level of health services.

He pointed out that the Commission applied an integrated plan to increase the number of medical and nursing staff and increase the number of hospitals and health centers to cope with the urban expansion and the expected increase in the emirate's population.

On the other hand, the Dubai Health Authority announced yesterday through its participation in the Arab Health Exhibition that it had conducted more than 1168 sight correction operations by LASIK technology during the past three years.

The Executive Director of the primary health care services in the commission, Dr. Manal Trim, said that: the demand for correction of the sight by this technology continues to increase at Dubai Hospital, explaining that the hospital performed 274 processes in 2012; the number rose to 388 processes in 2013, and arrived to 506 processes last year.

She pointed out that the body launched during its participation of the Arab Health Exhibition an effectively targeted package of therapeutic bouquets for patients in the areas of health promotion, fertilization, and LASIK operations in competitive prices within the orientation to promote Dubai as an ideal destination for medical tourism.

The Commission launched a competitive package to correct the sight for patients from inside and outside the state, by LASIK technology with success rates of up to 99%, and the package includes a list which its price of 6,500 dirhams in form of a medical examination before the operation, and the procedure according to the latest devices and new technologies.

Dr. Trim Mamonia confirmed that vision correction operations by LASIK, which takes between (8-12) seconds, according to a number of conditions and standards relating to full safety of the eye, the adequacy of the cornea thickness, and age.

She explained that the Commission reviewed during its participation at Arab Health exhibition the developments and achievements of Dubai Gynecology and fertilization Centre, which exceeded the global rates in the fertilization process, noting that the health services price of the center is the most appropriate offers compared to prices of providers of the same service in the region.

She pointed to the efforts made by the Dubai Gynecology and Fertilization Centre to get international accreditation to be the first center of its kind in the region gets this credit, as it is currently working on providing international accreditation requirements, which confirms the Commission's commitment to continue to provide its health services, according to the applicable international standards in this area, which will encourage medical tourism, and enhance the standing and reputation of the Emirate of Dubai in the medical field.

On the other hand, the Dubai Health Authority issued a magazine «My health» as part of its efforts «to publish and promote awareness and health education for the community members of various diseases».

The Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication Department in the body, Ghanim Lootah, said that the issuance of this publication is part of the body strategic initiatives to focus on disease prevention, by raising health awareness among members of the community with various diseases, especially ones related to lifestyle.
