Activities
of the second annual meeting of the
Society for Bariatric Surgery in the Gulf has been launched today, which is
considered one the biggest events in the field of obesity in the Middle East,
at the Raffles Hotel in Dubai under the auspices of the Dubai Health Authority.
After
the conference which is hosted by the Emirates Group for obesity surgery and
metabolic diseases, the only platform specialized in the Middle East to address
the problem of obesity, which has become the largest public health problem in
the world. And the second annual meeting of the Society for Bariatric Surgery
in the Gulf collects health care professionals in the field of obesity, in
addition to international delegations from the Middle East to address this
global problem. The conference included a live surgery programs included three
detailed workshops and more than 20 meetings with lectures by keynote speakers
and oral presentations.
The
most marked highlight was showing latest main surgery techniques for obesity
intraluminal "BOSE" which exposed for the first time in Dubai during
this conference in order to put forward the non-surgical treatment of obesity.
"BOSE" technique results are Similar to," which is made by mouth
using endoscopy, with results of Sleeve gastrectomy operation which is one of
the common surgeries for the treatment of morbid obesity.
Dr.
Girish Juneja, head of the medical committee said: "expert speakers spoken
around the world have cooperated with the second meeting of the annual Society
for Bariatric Surgery in the Gulf in 2014 in order to organize seminars in the
science and management of obesity. And more than a hundred local and
international experts of obesity will reach to Dubai to spread their views on
this health problem. "
And
the conference, which promises to exceed expectations by discussing many topics
related to obesity and solutions, was able to display operations directly from
different places of the world in Taiwan, France, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, India,
and several hospitals in the United Arab Emirates. Experts conducted surgeries
on the air in front of the audience, where they offered several complex
surgeries, in order to educate them on how to find solutions to the problems of
obesity..
The
second annual meeting of the Society for Bariatric Surgery in the Gulf is
looking forward to becoming a main educational platform in the region in the
field of treatment of obesity, where doctors, researchers and healthcare
