Prohibiting females from sports is the main reason of spread of obesity and diabetes in Saudi Arabia

Saudi women are Facing many obstacles to practice sports as a hobby to become any talk about professionalism in sports is luxury.
Finally, "Human Rights Watch Organisaion"  has criticized Saudi Arabia,not to engage any woman in the Asian Games XVII in South Korea.

  After controversy accompanied the Saudi participation in the Summer Olympic Games in London 2012 about two years ago, 
and resulted in allowing two female athletes to participate, Wojdan Shaherkani which represented her country in judo, and Sarah Attar in athletics within 800 meters race.

ًThe Saudi Arabia Olympic Committee has dedicated its intention to involve female players in, Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, without any formal announcement in this regard, or even reveal the names of those who intend to participate.Also, the General Secretary of the Saudi Arabia Olympic Committee Mohammed Almshal, said in statements published in a number of local media, "The choice of Saudi women athletes to represent the Kingdom in Rio de Janeiro Olympics is not a decision taken by the Committee, it is something that needs to approval from several agencies" explaining that  representation of women in the UK sporting events did not begin until now effectively.



Women's teams
Number of Saudi cities, especially Riyadh and Jeddah, followed by others, have witnessed establishment of women's sports teams in several games such as football, basketball and volleyball.It is reported that the number of these teams reached 25 teams, 20 of them in Jeddah,3 in Riyadh, and 2 in the eastern region.The Saudi Olympic Committee has announced that it will deal with specialized companies to start activating the activities of women's clubs, expected that "the work will begin during the current year, according to the specific controls, and under the supervision of government agencies.
Finding clubs
Saudi women are prohibited from entering stadiums even as a spectator or a fan and often the opinion writers in the local media raise this issue and demanding to allow women to enter the stadiums and to allocate special stands for women or families.

 In this context, citizen Sarah Fahd said "preventing women from entering stadiums is a painful decision, especially for those who are interested in the sport." She added that "such an arbitrary decision was caused by inferior regimens do not take into account the importance of sports for women

As a result of spread of obesity and diabetes among female students in the Kingdom, the Shura Council has approved less than a year the recommendation of the Educational Affairs Committee in the Council,to enable female students to practice sport in schools, and providing fitness and health programs, in accordance with their nature and according to sharia law.

In addition, coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education to develop appropriate rehabilitation programs for the parameters to prepare them for training students to exercise. The decision was met with objections from some clergymen.

Also, due to the absence of sports clubs, Saudi women facing troubles, noting that many of them want to exercise to relieve obesity, which its ratio reached to 37 per cent in Saudi Arabia, which is the highest in the world, according to a study of the Saudi expert Fouad Niazi.

About five years ago, the Ministry of Municipal Affairs has decided to close all women's clubs, which opened by license.

  Followed by the closure of gyms created by some small civil dispensaries, after granting a license allowing women to workout in a number of private centers of large civil hospitals and hotels in 2013.
It should be noted that there are small number of women who go to these centers, due to its distance from residential neighborhoods, and high subscription prices in it.
All of these obstacles have led some women to establish gyms in unlicensed homes
Some rich women contract with special trainers at home.
Citizen Manal ashkar clarifies that there are upscale and well-equipped gyms, but its subscription fees are too high.
It points out that "some of these Clubs' fees are 1900 riyals per month, and some 12 thousand per year, and include only the use of equipements and swimming pool and a lot of women have to pay these high costs, not to been deprived from the practice of this sport, and to pay attention to their bodies, and mitigate daily pressures and anxieties.

On the other hand, fees of males'gyms not exceed 3 thousand riyals in the year, and include all the services.

Also,she indicated that "there are other clubs do not take into account medical requirements, and lack presence of trainers.

 Samaher Abdullah says she practiced sport in the lounges attached houses; due to its proximity and lack of need for transportation to reach them, knowing that the price of transportation is very high.

Coach Hyam Qasim emphasizes to "new Arab" that "sport does not require a certain fitness," adding that "Sport for All, which represents physical, psychological and healthy treatment and source for the secretion of hormones of pleasure." She noted "it is accredited by the developed countries of the world as a treatment in health centers and even prisons.Also,she ensures that the importance of exercise on a regular basis for girls and women, especially since some studies suggest that it may contribute to have smart children.
Thus Saudi women tireless fraud on their circumstances, to secure minimum of their rights, even healthy ones.
