Rhinopro Syrup the best medication approved by FDA for treatment of common cold

Carbinoxamine is one of the compositions of Rhinopro syrup beside Pseudoephedrine.It is used for treatment of common cold and hay fever in pediatrics and adults.



Rhinopro is an effective medication to treat sinus and throat troubles during common cold.Nasal drops such as Afrin nasal drops and Otrivin nasal dropsare unnecessary when Rhinopro syrup is used.The using of these nasal drops is contraindicated for more than 5 days to avoid Rebound congestion while Rhinopro can be used for more than 5 days without any problems.

Mechanism and properties of Rhinopro Syrup:
1-Carbinoxamine is an antihistamine belongs to the first generation of anti-histaminics that decreases the mucosal secretions from the nose and treats allergic symptoms.

2-Pseudoephedrine is an alpha receptor antagonist (Sympathomimetic) so,it works as an oral nasal decongestant with minimum effect on central nervous system.

Dosage and administration of Rhinopro:
Children :6-12 years  5 ml Rhinopro syrup 3 times daily.

Children more than 12 and adults: 10 ml from Rhinopro syrup 3 times daily.

Rhinopro syrup not to be used under 6 years.

Side effect of Rhinopro syrup:
Sleep disturbances,feeling of weakness,dizziness and vertigo due to Carbinoxamine.
Disturbance of central nervous system and agitation due to Pseudoephedrine.


Pregnancy and lactation:
Rhinopro is not used during pregnancy and lactation due to Pseudoephedrine (Category C).

Contraindications of Rhinopro syrup:
Rhinopro syrup is contraindicated in children less than six years.
Contraindicated in hypertensive patients.
Contraindicated in Glaucoma patients.
