«Alwakeel» Assembly launches the first forum of obesity and nutrition
Under the auspices of Dr. Yusuf Bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen The Minister of Social Affairs and Her Highness Princess Ayaa bent El-Faisal Bin Abdullah Al-Saud, Chairman of directors of the Charitable Society for the fight against obesity (Alwakeel) Assembly and the Saudi Society of Clinical Nutrition regulate Wednesday morning "obesity and food forum".
With the participation of the Ministry of Health represented in nutrition management and Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Medical group.
This event is a unique in this area as it speaks Arabic and English, also participated in its success many charities and the competent authorities (Zahra, Sanad, Alnakaa, Etaam, Saudi Society of Diabetes, blind, families of autism, schizophrenia, School Health, the National Center First Aid, national Center for Diabetes.
The forum aims to publicize the dangers of obesity in Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf and related complications, and also on the factors helping to get rid of obesity and the importance of food and nutrition to balance lifestyle, along with the role of awareness programs in the fight against obesity, also the participants recognized on the impact of surgeries and drugs in the treatment of obesity.
There will be 4 different workshops accredited by the Saudi Council for Health Specialties, talking about( physical activity, tips and solutions), and (psychological methods to restrict the diet), and( school nutrition, foundations and challenges), and( the role of the art of caricature and its use in the health and nutrition education).
All lectures either research topics or awareness workshops offered are new and important to deliver information to the community understandable and easy manner. Attendance has been allocated to the forum for all medical and health disciplines to take advantage of the latest developments in obesity and food.
To be mentioned The problem of obesity is big at Saudi Arabia as it has the largest number of obese people all over the world due to the welfare and lack of excercises.
